Baby Princess Dress (1-2 yr)
Heirloom quality $200. CdnI love making these dresses. Inspired by Irish Crochet, which achieved its zenith by 1910, and is making a minor comeback in fashion. The buttons are made of the same cotton, yet durable. Two extra buttons included.
Each dress takes 40-45 hours to make.
A very simple design made to hang at the hips and stretch around the midriff with adjustable straps. Alone or with a T-shirt or blouse, this dress can be worn, hopefully, all four seasons, depending on the child's growth.
100% mercerized cotton. Wash in cold water and lay to dry on a towel, gently stretch the stitches to lay flat. Store with a layer of white tissue paper inside and around in a drawer. To prevent moths, I suggest a small piece of cedar wood on top of the tissue paper, if you don't have a cedar chest or drawer lining. Avoid plastic, as it holds moisture and will damage the threads after long term use.
